FAQ

  1. Where do CCAMS students come from?

CCAMS students are disadvantaged kids, especially orphans, who come from all over Cambodia, rescued by CCAMS teams as they travel around the country, or referred to CCAMS by local pastors, leaders of Christian organizations, or destitute family members.

  2. Where do CCAMS students go after graduation?

Since CCAMS is a home as well as a school, our students are not required to leave after graduation. Consequently, they may choose to stay, continuing as part of the family, and becoming ministry partners with the CCAMS leaders. Graduates Sophun Ty and Reaksmey Long have made this career choice. However, some graduates choose to leave CCAMS to get married, or to seek different educational opportunities, or to pursue other employment prospects.

There are also students who leave without graduating. Sometimes students come to CCAMS as teenagers, unable to read and write, or seriously behind in school. Having such a late introduction to academics, many of them drop out of the program before graduation. Often these teenagers are also dealing with rebellious tendencies, or sinful addictions, which cause them to be belligerent against the rules of the school. After many years of receiving God's blessings at CCAMS, they sometimes decide to leave and return to the difficult environments from which they came, but nonetheless better able to survive there because of the preparation received. As we continue to pray for them, some of these former students eventually mature to the point that they decide to pursue further education on their own, and often become staff members of local Christian organizations or employees of local businesses. Some of them join local churches and begin to show interest in spiritual priorities. And some of them even come back to be reconciled with the people who love them at CCAMS.

  3. Where does CCAMS funding come from?

CCAMS is a faith ministry, totally dependent on God's provision through the financial gifts of His people, locally and around the world. No fees are charged for students to live and study here, or for CCAMS to present workshops or performances. However, donations are welcomed from those who are able to offer them. Several former students have become financial supporters of CCAMS. We hope that in the future many others will become faithful donors, as God prospers them financially through the free training they have received.

All staff members are volunteers, either raising their own support, or sharing together in the provisions made available through donors. We hope that in the future many former students will also volunteer their time and talents to assist their alma mater.
