THANK YOU FOR PRAYING
June 9, 2012

Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,

Thank you so much for praying for Noren and for emailing us personally to express your love! After the first 24 hours in the clinic, the headache, dizziness, and vomiting stopped. Apparently the stroke threat was averted, because those symptoms have not returned. Praise God! One problem may have been that her low dose aspirin was withdrawn a few weeks ago because it was discovered that she was allergic to aspirin. In the meantime, while the doctors were discussing what to substitute, she was not taking anything to thin her blood. Now she is taking a daily dose of the substitute.

However, another symptom -- the high fever -- persisted for days because of an infection. We are still awaiting results from a sputum culture that should tell us the name of the culprit and what medication is supposed to zap it. But even though the name was unknown, the doctors went ahead and prescribed two antibiotics by IV. Finally, on Thursday night, the fever broke!

This evening (Saturday) Noren was able to come home, armed with the same meds to take by mouth that she had been receiving by IV at the clinic. All the students and staff lined up in the courtyard, clapping and singing as the car drove in. After hugs and prayers, she went to her room to find fragrant jasmine flowers sprinkled on her pillow.

Please keep praying for Noren. Some test results will come back in a few more days. Hopefully, they will reveal what the infection is so that the doctors can make sure it is handled properly. In the meantime, Noren is still dependent on the nebulizer every two to three hours to be able to breathe. But at least she is back home with her family who loves her.

Gioia (for Noren and the CCAM Family)
