Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,

Saturday, July 20, was a special day! Kelsey arrived safely home in Colorado, U.S.A. and Baby Grace arrived safely home at CCAMS in Cambodia! Praise the Lord!

Whenever any newborn baby comes home, major adjustments are necessary to accommodate the new addition to the family. And so it is at CCAMS, especially in Grace’s immediate family unit. Such adjustments are a bit more specialized in Grace’s case, because she is still more fragile than a full-term baby. Please pray for Sophun, Reaksmey (and Isaac!) who are taking care of Grace non-stop, which means losing lots of sleep! Pray also for the rest of the folks at CCAMS who are taking turns helping as needed.

Grace is having a hard time learning how to suck from the breast, so pray for her speedy adaptation. Pray also for the flow of milk to be more plentiful and to coincide more closely with the baby’s hunger. She weighs only 1 kilo and 75 grams, so needs to catch up with her weight gain. In addition to that, she has a slight case of jaundice, so please pray that it will be healed soon. And pray also for protection from illness for baby and everyone taking care of her.

So far, no one at CCAMS has been allowed to hold Baby Grace except for her parents…. doctor’s orders. But as soon as she matures a little more and is not so vulnerable, the rest of her extended CCAMS family will be allowed to interact with her more closely.
