OVERCOMING BITTER WITH SWEET
November 19, 2013

Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,

“Taste and see that the Lord is good!” (Psalm 34:8) Today has been a beautiful sunny day, refreshed by gentle breezes. And Kelsey has arrived safely in Phnom Penh, along with the four Action Packers and 3 suitcases! She reports about how smoothly every transition flowed throughout the entire journey. Kelsey also reports that her mom recovered from her sickness in time to spend some quality time with her, and then to accompany her to the airport, along with her dad and other relatives. Praise the Lord!

When we drove into the courtyard at CCAMS, all the students gathered around to greet her, playing drums and singing! Then she got to meet four new students who came to CCAMS during her absence. Two of those students will be in her preschool class. As Kelsey was talking to them, her preschool graduates from last year, who are now in first grade, sidled up to her begging to be readmitted to preschool! The current preschoolers, plus the graduates, still love to come almost every afternoon to the house where Gioia and Kelsey stay to work puzzles, read books, build with blocks, or play with plastic animal sets. So they can still have the best of both worlds while continuing to grow up!

After enjoying one of her favorite Cambodian meals, Kelsey began unpacking the seven pieces of luggage! It was kind of like an early Christmas! So we’ve set aside some of the gifts to be wrapped up and given later under the Christmas tree or in their stockings. We thank God, as well as all who donated these gifts! The unpacking helped Kelsey fight jet lag, so that she didn’t fall asleep before bedtime. So now, at the proper time, she’s drifting off into her well deserved rest.

Thank you for praying for Kelsey’s journey. Please continue to pray for her Welcome Home Performance tomorrow, that it will not rain and that there will be uninterrupted electricity at the performance venue. Pray that the performing team will be physically fit and spiritually prepared to proclaim the biblical messages of the new dances. And please pray that Kelsey will quickly overcome the effects of jet lag, so that she will not only enjoy the performance, but also be able to film it!

Enjoying God’s goodness,
The CCAMS Family
