SHARING CHRISTMAS WITH OTHERS
December 20, 2013

Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,

Welcome to the many new subscribers who have recently joined our email update list! We are praying God’s blessings upon all of you, new and old, especially during this Christmas season. Thank you for your past and continuing financial, prayer, and practical support for the work of God through CCAMS in Cambodia.

On December 18, we completed the dress rehearsal and filming of one of our newest creations, “Song of the Bondservants.” Click here to view the video posted on YouTube! The blurb beneath the screen shares the libretto, including story notes and translation of song lyrics. Praise God for this BIG answer to our prayers!

Please pray for us as we plunge into the following busy performance schedule for the Christmas season. Pray particularly for safety in travels and for protection from all types of blocks to our success, like illness (Isaac came down with a fever last night, Lieng has pink eye, Noren is suffering an arthritis attack in her shoulder), accidents (some dancers have reported injuries), equipment failures (one of our vans keeps breaking down), utility outages (especially electrical power and water), inclement weather (a cold spell is causing risk of illness and heavy rains still occur once in a while), etc. And pray especially that our performers will be filled with the Holy Spirit, and that the hearts of our audiences will be touched through our creative expressions of messages from the Word of God.

December 21     Evangelistic Outreach to Neighborhood Children
with Asian Hope at Logos International School

CCAMS will be performing “The Proclamation Drum Dance” and “The Farewell Dance” at Logos this Saturday. In addition, we will be reading aloud one of our children’s books, “A True Friend,” written and illustrated by former CCAMS student, Lina Pao. Sophun will share a short message explaining how Jesus is the True Friend of all people everywhere. Then, Lina will join with all of us to distribute hundreds of copies of “A True Friend” to the neighborhood children, in addition to their snack treats from Asian Hope.

December 22     Christmas Celebration at New Jerusalem Church

This is Pastor David’s church, so we will be performing the two new dances created in partnership with him: “The Proclamation Drum Dance” and “Song of the Bondservants.” Sister churches from the provinces will travel long distances to join with the Phnom Penh congregation for this event. Afterwards, we will all enjoy a festive Cambodian-style Christmas meal together.

December 25     Interdenominational Christmas Outreach
                          at Chatamok Theater

Christians from many different churches will invite their unsaved friends and neighbors to attend this celebration. Key government leaders are also invited. CCAMS will be performing “The Proclamation Drum Dance,” “Song of the Bondservants,” and “The Farewell Dance.” There have already been many obstacles to the realization of this event. However, one by one, each hindrance has been overcome by God’s power unleashed through our prayers! The most recent concern is that the political opposition party plans demonstrations on the street in front of the theater on December 25, making security difficult! However, the Minister of Religion, a staunch supporter of religious freedom, is personally encouraging the Christian organizers of this event to go ahead with it. He has reminded them not to be afraid, because Jesus is a powerful God who can protect His people!

January 1     Outreach to a Prison for Male Inmates in Kompong Cham
                     Province Sponsored by Pastor Kakada

Pastor Kakada and Russey Keo Baptist Church have been sharing the Good News of Jesus with these prisoners for years. Some of them have already believed in Jesus and are attending discipleship classes taught by Pastor Kakada and his church leaders. Our CCAMS boys will travel for three hours to perform “The Proclamation Drum Dance” and “The New Covenant in My Blood” for them.

January 6     World Relief Microcredit Christmas Celebration

CCAMS will partner with World Relief to present messages from God’s Word for both believers and nonbelievers, performing “The Welcome Dance,” “Song of the Bondservants,” and “The Birth of Jesus,” a traditional-style lakown bassac drama.

Thank you for sharing your resources with us, so that we can continue to share Christ’s message with so many here in Cambodia!

Gratefully,
The CCAMS Family
