SHOWERS OF BLESSING
August 6, 2014

Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,

Since our last newsletter, the arrival of the rainy season has consistently brought daily showers and cooler temperatures. The availability of electrical power has gradually stabilized. And the previous epidemic of illness has dissipated, causing health to blossom again!

For the month of August, the CCAM provisional budget (which provides enough money to cover basic operating expenses) has almost been completely met! Praise the Lord! Thanks to all of you who have been praying for a solution to our long-term financial crisis, and also to those who have donated toward relieving it!

God used one of our partners in a supporting church to email a personal letter of appeal to his friends and associates, encouraging them to respond to our need by giving special one-time gifts, or even to pledge monthly support, in addition to their church’s regular donation. Ever since then, many special donations from those brothers and sisters have been “raining” upon us!

This is just one more way discovered by a CCAM partner to network for CCAM in his own sphere of influence. Perhaps the Lord might lead others of you to follow this same approach! In addition to that, we also have networkers who represent CCAM at conferences, give presentations about CCAM to church or civic groups, distribute CCAM children’s books or art cards in return for donations, or raise funds to purchase supplies for CCAM and then bring or ship them to Cambodia. So let us know if you would like to network on behalf of CCAM in any of these ways…or maybe God has given you a different idea to help us!

Another blessing is that our senior students have just completed taking the final 12th grade government exam! Their scores will be posted by the end of the month! We thank God for giving our students wisdom and perseverance, for providing the funds to pay their fees, and for the volunteer exam coaches who have faithfully spurred them toward the goal.

Next week, August 12 and 13, CCAM will be partnering with Steve Scott of CANA (Christian Artists Networking Association) to host a two-day Christian Arts Seminar here in Phnom Penh, in preparation for the possibility of hosting a larger conference in 2015. Gioia will be presenting a PowerPoint entitled “God the Creator’s Perspective on the Arts: Revealed in His Creation and in His Word.” The CCAM dance team will perform, and some of our students and staff will give testimonies. Steve will share creative insights from the Gospel of John. Please pray for clarity and encouragement for participants seeking God’s will for how to use their creative gifts to serve Him.

Again, we are very grateful to God, and to all of you who have answered His call to share your resources to further God’s work in Cambodia through CCAM. Please continue to pray for the steady outpouring of pledged finances each month to provide a firm foundation for paying operating expenses, so that the supplementary special donations can fund projects and programs.

These “showers of blessing,” both natural and figurative, seem even more refreshing since they follow many months of “blistering drought!” Thanks to all of you who prayed and to God who answered!

Feeling refreshed,
The CCAM Family
