RETURN OF THE REMNANT

Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,

Back in May, when our remnant students were required by the government to return to live with their relatives (against their will and the will of their relatives), remnant student Sokchea Chheng begged the government officials to allow him to stay with us to be trained as a staff, since he was almost 18 years old.  We praise God that he was allowed to do so!

Even though our in-house student residential program was shut down at that time, due to slanderous reports that we were abusing students, nevertheless, the government officials who actually carried out the investigation came to realize that those accusations were not true.  That’s why our ministry was allowed to continue, and our leaders were not prosecuted.

Now three more members of our former Junior Team are begging to return to CCAMS:  Sreyvorn Khen, Hieng Sorn, and Soklieng Chheng (Sokchea’s brother)!  Soklieng is already commuting by bicycle from way across town every day to help us prepare for the school’s opening.  Click here to see more pictures of our recent reunion with them.  And there are over 20 potential new students currently living in a primarily Christian countryside village who want to enroll in our program too!

The problem is…our students are no longer allowed to live with us in our school building.  Ever since moving to our new school facility, we have been praying for God to provide two student dorms nearby, one for girls and one for boys.  So far, we have found one, and are still searching for another.  The cost to rent each dorm would be $500 per month, so $1,000 for both.

Please pray that God will perform yet another miracle to provide these two dorms, along with the managers, the cooks, and especially the money, and that it will happen soon, because time is running out!  All of these students need a place to stay near us, so that they can register at a nearby government school in time to begin ½ day academic classes the first of November!

The CCAM School plans to officially reopen a couple of weeks later, offering students our flexible ½ day-plus-evenings schedule that dovetails with their academic schedule.  At the present time, we are holding pilot classes and private lessons to train some available students to be teacher assistants when our school opens.

God has proven by all of His recent miracles that nothing is impossible for Him to accomplish!  We continue to stand by in amazement to see the salvation of the Lord at each new impasse, as He moves steadily forward to restore CCAMS for His glory!
