Dear CCAM Partners and Friends,
In the past, many disadvantaged students were called by God to join CCAMS to receive His blessings and to be trained to serve Him through the arts. Some of those were eventually chosen for important staff responsibilities in His ministry. But along the way, after 5, 10, 15, or even 20 years, those students and staff gradually left CCAMS to follow other calls. Especially after the mass exodus from Dec 2015 to May 2016, there remained only one faithful student to represent the inheritance of the Lord at CCAMS: Sokchea, who was chosen by God to become an intern!
We know that God often begins or restores His programs with only one person…like He did with Adam, Noah, and Abraham. So far, five former CCAMS students have responded to God’s call to rejoin Sokchea at CCAMS: his younger brother, Soklieng, plus Hieng, Sreyvorn, Naomi, and John.
And through the recruitment efforts of a former CCAMS student, Bopha So, there are now over twenty new students from the countryside enrolled as CCAMS students! We have not yet been able to gather them all in one location to take a group photo, but click here to view the ones we’ve photographed so far. Also, keep checking our Facebook page periodically for the posting of additional pictures.
God is again showing His intentions to restore CCAMS by calling students! And since all of these students are poor and live too far away to commute, they need a boys’ and a girls’ dorm near our school.
We have found a couple of p’te-ah l’veng apartment buildings nearby that would be suitable for dorms, but the landlords are refusing to repair them. Please pray for those landlords to agree, or for better housing options to appear! The monthly rent for each dorm would be around $500 each; therefore, $1,000 for both. Another $1,000 per month would cover utilities, food, and student supplies.
The total cost would be $2,000 per month for rescuing and training between 20-30 Cambodian Christian youth who are being called by our Lord Jesus Christ to serve Him through CCAMS!
Adult relatives of the students are beginning to volunteer to serve as a cook or as a seamstress, but we still need a manager for each dorm. Please pray that our God who does the impossible will provide everything that is needed soon to complete His restoration miracle! School starts on November 1st!
